On 14-15 November 2018, the Final Conference of the “Building Safe and Resilient Communities II” programme was held in Betsy’s Hotel in Tbilisi.  The aim of the conference was to summarize project achievements of the project and to share information between the three targeted South Caucasus countries. The conference was attended by representatives of implementing National Societies – Armenian Red Cross, Azerbaijan Red Crescent and Georgia Red Cross Societies – together with regional and national government representatives from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, as well as by representatives of Austrian Development Agency, Austrian Red Cross and Danish Red Cross. The Ambassador of Austria to Georgia, H.E. Arad Benkö, as well as the President of Georgia Red Cross Society, Ms. Natia Loladze held the opening/welcome speeches.

The aim of the project “Building Safe and Resilient Communities” was to strengthen urban and rural communities, reduce vulnerability and increase preparedness of the community members for different emergency situations. The project started in December 2012 targeting three countries in South Caucasus – Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia – and was supported by the Austrian Development Cooperation and Austrian Red Cross.
