In April 2016, Odzun, Sarchapet, Margahovit and Mets Parni communities in Lori region were included in "Building Safe and Resilient Communities" project, where they established community volunteer response teams consisting of 20 people.
From 29 March-01 April and 12-15 April 2016, in the frame of the project “Building Safe and Resilient Communities II” funded by Austrian Red Cross and Austrian Development Cooperation, GRCS conducted basic course for community volunteer teams in 4 target communities.
On 29 and 30 March 2016, within “Building Safe and Resilient Communities II” project, ARCS project staff with Head of Lori Regional Rescue Service have visited new target communities Odzun, Mets Parni, Margahovit and Sarchapet.
From 15-17 March 2016, the second phase of the “Building Safe and Resilient Communities” (BSRC II, Dec. 2015 – Nov. 2018) programme was officially launched during a regional Kick-off meeting in Hotel “Betsy’s”, Tbilisi.
On 25 January 2016, the finalization meeting was held, where the results of the first phase of "Building Safe and Resilient Communities" as well as the outlook of it's second phase have been presented to relevant stakeholders.
